A Building Survey is a more comprehensive report than the Homebuyer Report focusing on the construction and condition of the building and involves an inspection of the external and internal elements of the property.

The report will identify defects, potential problems and any necessary remedial work the purchaser may wish to consider before exchange of contract.  This type of survey is more suitable for properties that are older, are in a bad state of repair, have been extensively altered and over two storeys high.

You should consider having a Building Survey report even if you have arranged for a Mortgage Valuation Report.  It is still advisable to arrange for a survey to be carried out by your own surveyor – the Mortgage Valuation Report is prepared for the lender not the purchaser.  Our report will not include a valuation.
